The Canadian Event Awards is Canada’s premier recognition program for the event and meeting industry and are known for their rigorous competition process, with entries reviewed and scored based on the merits of creativity, problem-solving, innovative solutions, design aesthetics, and more.
Fallsview Casino Resort hosted a multi-faceted celebration of Lunar New Year – Year of the Rabbit with activities starting January 23 through to February 5, 2023. Lunar New Year is a significant event for Fallsview Casino and casino patrons, as it represents the celebration of a new year and hope for good health and fortune for the year to come. It is one of the biggest holidays in the Asian culture and this celebration in particular was an extra special event, as it welcomed back patrons post-COVID.

Kicking festivities off on January 23, 2023, was a property parade with a lion dance through Fallsview Casino Resort’s galleria, casino gaming floor and Golden Lotus restaurant. The lions later joined Asian Superstar, Mimi Choo in concert to kick off a two-night performance at the Avalon Theatre. The celebrations continued with a Lunar New Year promotion as well as an invitation VIP Player party that featured a traditional 10-course dinner and live entertainment in the Grand Hall, decorated with lanterns and themed to the year of the Rabbit. The property décor included cherry blossoms, floral arrangements, and lantern banners and the Teslatron at the main entrance was themed in celebration of the year of the rabbit and lunar new year décor to welcome all visitors to the property. Lunar New Year celebrations at Fallsview Casino encompass the entire property, from special events to marketing, entertainment, food and beverage, promotions and VIP player services to ensure that all customers have the opportunity to participate. As there are many components, planning begins approximately eight months before the event.
