(Niagara Falls, ON) October 17, 2016 – Fallsview Casino’s Pastry Chef Pradeep Dharmawardane takes centre stage in a throw-down tournament of culinary champions when he heads to the 2016 Internationale Kochkunst Ausstellung (IKA) Culinary Olympics in Erfurt, Germany.
From October 22 to October 25, 2,000 chefs from over 50 nations will compete for succulent victory in a high-level demonstration of culinary art and expertise at the IKA Culinary Olympics, which has become the Mecca for culinary professionals across the globe since its inauguration in 1900.
Award-winning Dharmawardane showcases the pinnacle of pastry excellence in this year’s competition as he joins five esteemed chefs representing Ontario on the Trillium Chefs Canada team. Throughout the tournament, he will present one dessert with chocolate, one dessert with fruit and four types of custom designed petits fours. Each dish will be judged on presentation, innovation, composition, preparation and serving arrangement.

Dharmawardane’s love for cooking was cultivated at an early age through trial and error, drawing ingenuity from his travels across the globe. As a notable culinary artist in Sri Lanka, Dubai, Washington and the Bahamas, he joined the Fallsview team in 2007.
