FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Niagara Falls, ON) May 11, 2016 – Teams of dedicated and enthusiastic female Associates from Niagara Casinos are trading in work attire for hard hats and work boots as they take part in several Women Build days with Habitat Niagara’s Adopt-a-Build-Day Sponsorship Program.
The innovative Women Build program promotes the involvement of women in the construction of Habitat homes by hosting build projects with the majority of the planning and execution undertaken by women volunteers.
“Our Associates are always willing and eager to make a positive impact, no matter how big or small, and we’re proud to be involved with this initiative once again,” said Art Frank, President, Niagara Casinos. “Last year, our employees collectively invested over 600 volunteer hours with various local charities, and their contributions truly reflect our company’s commitment to improve our communities.”
On May 13, Niagara Casinos will participate in a Welland build that will become home to a family from El Salvador. On August 18, a casino team will be working on a Habitat house in Niagara Falls that will become a new home to a local Somali family of 10 that includes 8 children.
This year, Niagara Casinos has sponsored three Women Build Adopt-a-Days (the first took place on April 19), which will see teams of eight female casino volunteers working on a Habitat build site accomplishing tasks such as deck construction, painting or installing flooring. Funds raised from Habitat’s Adopt-a-Days go towards construction costs and directly benefit hardworking, low-income Niagara families.
