(Niagara Falls, ON) February 7, 2023 – Fans of impressionism, sleight of hand, sock hops, cowboy love songs, Big Apple musicals, 80s hair metal, and/or one of the greatest rock and roll bands ever will want to look at Fallsview Casino Resort’s upcoming entertainment calendar.
Both the Avalon Theatre and the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino are excited to announce numerous acts featuring so much variety that fans of live entertainment will feel as if they can purchase in bulk. Bret Michaels and Cheap Trick are the big names topping the list. Michaels is the former lead singer of 80s glam-metal super band Poison. He also had a very successful solo career. In 2006, he was ranked No. 40 on Hit Parader’s list of greatest heavy metal singers of all time. In January of this year, he released Back in the Day, his first single in five years. It’s being called a feel good, road trip anthem song that will help you beat the winter blues.
Cheap Trick are credited for being leaders in an era of music that bridged 60s guitar pop, heavy metal, and punk rock. Their 1979 smash hit I Want You to Want Me is a bona fide rock classic. The song Dream Police reached No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart in 1979. Cheap Trick has performed live more than 5,000 times and sold more than 20 million albums. In 2016, they were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of fame.
“Rock and Roll royalty, and a man who helped pioneer the incredibly successful era of big hair, super-catchy guitar riffs and heavy metal appeal,” exclaims Cathy Price, Vice President of Marketing, Niagara Casinos. “These are shows not to be missed by fans across all generations.”
From Rock and Roll to performing artists, the fun never stops at Fallsview. Magician and comedian John van der Put – A.K.A Piff the Magic Dragon – and Terry Fator, an illusionist/ventriloquist/comedian, are the perfect combination of quirky and funny. Originally, a stand-alone comedian, van der Put created his stage persona, Piff the Magic Dragon in 2008. Dressing in a dragon costume, with self-deprecating humour and deadpan delivery, he is assisted by Mr. Piffles, a Chihuahua in a dragon costume. Fator is a ventriloquist, impressionist, and stand-up comedian, and singer. After initially performing with two bands, he eventually conducted solo performances, combining ventriloquism and singing with comedy. He is the champion of Season 2 of America’s Got Talent.
On top of these amazing performances, these additional great acts are slated to perform between April and June of this year.
- The diverse male voices of the New York stage, The Broadway Boys;
- Country artists, the Eli Young Band; and
- 50s and 60s pop icons, Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone;
“Where to start?” exclaims Price. “Fallsview Casino Resort is truly a one-stop-shop for your entertainment needs.”
